I'm very tired.

That about says it all. I've been working a lot and my body is starting to tell me how much it doesn't appreciate it. I love my new job but today I crashed and burned. It started out well, so I thought. I didn't get any coffee or breakfast but that is pretty normal for most days. However, today it was an issue. Dh brought me a cup of Sbux though I didn't get to drank much ~ that was so sweet of him especially since he had to get thru the flash flood that occurred after he dropped me off at work. After my sip of coffee, my head began to hurt, my eyes became unfocused and I couldn't think clearly. I finally had to stop working and take some claritin and pain reliever. The pain subsided but the throbbing in my right eye lasted all day. I'm glad it wasn't pounding all day but the throb still was too much while standing on your feet for 4hr increments. I did manage to make it to the end of the day and clock out on time. I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow and probably should be in bed now resting. LOL But I had to update on whats going on w/me. ;)
After finishing off these lovely socks and mailing them to my target ~ I received this in the mail. So folks ~ its official, I've been assassinated. ;) My assassin sent some very lovely socks that are soft and pretty. I hope my target likes her socks though now I'm thinking I should have used a different yarn. ;0 Well, can't change that now. I wish the remaining warriors luck they will need it.
Well, off to bed now. I'm falling asleep typing and thats not good. Have a great sunday!

I've got a confession...

Are you ready for this admission? Are you sure? Because if you're not sure ~ you may be disappointed. Ok, I'll take your word for it and I'll tell you but you promise not to condemn me or send me to the looney farm? I'm holding you to this ~ you do keep your word and I'm trusting you with my secrets. ;D Ok ~ I'm ready to tell you.....

"I'm addicted to sock yarn."

Phew, now its out and you all know my weakness. I'm suppose to feel better but for some reason I feel like laughing out loud. ;D I know its ridiculous and some of you really thought I'd something serious to tell you. Most of you know of my addiction, especially when I tell you that "sock yarn doesn't count as stash." However, I think I'll have to add it to the no purchase category in order to control myself. ;D I love the stuff and when you can get it for under 5 bucks and make a pr of footies, well need I say anymore. I really need to get a better grip and start spending more time doing something else but I don't seem to know what yet. When I start reading ~ I collect books; when I start cross-stitch ~ I collect needles, patterns and thread; when I sew ~ I collect patterns, fabric and misc stuff ;D so what is a girl to do. heehee btw ~ nature walks won't work either I collect bird watching books and other necessary things but I will admit it would get me out of the house more. hmm....I think I need to break out the new books, the binoculars and sketchpad tomorrow. Yes, I think I will ~ this should give me the pick me up I need (thx for being a sounding board).

I thought I'd share this very humorous post since I've been feeling blah lately. I've a very intelligent post to share but that will be tomorrow. I'm off to bed. Nite!

Here's a pic of the new additions ~ Enjoy!

~ oops this pic is gift knitting from the clearance rack at the lys ~

Long night again

Its been another long one. We got in about 11:45p from the concert and I've been getting my kals caught up on my Feb progress. I didn't get much done but the Madders are finished. Yeah! I could have probably update sooner if I'd stayed home tonight.

Tonight the Winter Jam, which is a big music event, was in town and the girls and I had an opportunity to work merch. It wasn't the best night of my life and I must be PMSing because at about 9p I wish I was anywhere but there. I really wanted to see Newsong and Skillet but was only able to hear them, they were very loud too, since the booth I choose for us to work was the main one ~ Winter Jam. We spent the entire evening playing w/the flashing toys and selling shirts. I even have pics of the girls dualing with their flashing, spinning wands. Overall it was a great event and I believe each musician sold lots of merch. I think I will have to pass on the next concert and either go as a paying attendee or stay at home. I'm not enjoying volunteering as I used to nor do I enjoy working at BBW. Its definitely time for a vacation ~ I'm getting grumpy, I feel edgy and I'm tired alot. I'll share the pics later, I want to crop them first. ;D

On the knitting front ~ the Madders are done. I've started a modified pair and I've cast on 5x for the 2nd ND sock without success. I will work on these two tomorrow. I will also post pics of the ugly dishcloths ~ the one I made and the one I received. ;D This should be great, I know how ugly mine is and my pal told me that her cloth was so ugly it might bite. Well, that would be bad since I'm suppose to wash my dishes with it. We shall see its ugliness tomorrow.

I'm off to upload pics to flickr and go to bed. I'm very tired and I long for a hot bath, chocolate and 2 days of sleep. I know I can get the hot bath, some chocolate but the 2 days sleep may be challenging. I'll give a galant effort though. More tomorrow or is that today since its 12:13a. Ooops. Nite!

Up late knitting

Yes, I'm up late ~ I just got home about an hour and half ago from a concert. Woohoo! It was totally awesome and you all need to get to one if the tour stops in your area. Oh what tour ~ its Pillar's For the Love of the Game tour. Their new cd is out and its awesome. They are touring with Building 429, Wavolry and a new Sony artist ~ Brooke Barrettsmith. They were all awesome! I screamed, shouted, jumped and sold merch til 11p. ;D I also worked today in the store for 5hrs then straight to the concert. I must admit I'm tired and my knee is hurting~ I turned it while jumping. Hmm...I guess I need to consider working out so that I can be in shape for stuff like this. LOL

Now on to the knitting ~ I'm up working on sock #2 of my emergency socks as well as finishing off the foot of Madder #2. I may stay up for about another 1hr since I'm running on only 5hrs of sleep and I've had to cast on the emergency sock #2 4x and don't feel like messing around tonight. On second thought ~ I think I'm going to bed and get up early and keep a pot of coffee on all day. I need these socks ready for the post this weekend. ;D I'm finishing off the Madders too since they may end of being angel socks or for charity. I really do like this Madder pattern, it is very easy to follow and memorize.

I'm off to get some sleep and do a few rounds on Madder. Have a great one!

*Don't forget to check out the websites above ~ you will enjoy all the music unless you don't like rock! ;) Nite, Nite!

Doin' much better ;)

Everyone here is feeling much better and we are looking forward to a wonderful week. Sk8Chick did go to the doctor and get a prescription and feels better though she has a little tickle in the throat. I have a cough that comes and goes especially when I laugh, well thats a problem because as those of you who know me personally know, I laugh alot. ;D Since I haven't been blogging much nor have the desire to do so either ~ sorry. I think I'll give an update of the past 3 days so you know what life has been like around here.

Friday 2/8 ~ I worked at the store from 11a-3p but before I got there the day started as a nightmare ~ murphy's law was in operation. I awoke w/a migraine, still had to do my hair, iron my clothes, dh called and said I'd have to go to work early then Sk8Chick came out of her room crying. I was starting to have a meltdown because during all this I was also trying to make myself breakfast but ended up burning the frying pan. Ugh! what a morning but it did finally calm down and get in order. Sk8Chick had done something to her calf muscle and it appeared to be poking out of the leg so we got it propped and iced to await dh's arrival. He rescheduled his appointment so I wouldn't have to go in early to allow me to finish my hair. When he arrived and examined her leg, decided we needed to take her to the doctor. She was already home from work on doctor's order for having a fever so she wasn't looking forward to going to the doctor 2 days in a row. I called in to work letting know I would be late, then I got ready, grabbed my excedrin, sneakers for later and left home. I arrived at work and found out we had a new assistant manager, lots of new stuff for sale and shipment waiting to be processed. Work went smooth enough and after 3hr I got a sandwich so I could take the excedrin migraine ~ it worked quickly and I was very grateful. I left work at 3p and headed to a concert. Yeah! That was t he best part of the day. We did merch for Casting Crown, Leeland and John Waller. I had a blast and can't wait for the next concert on the 29th. I hope to volunteer for that one too but don't know just yet. MercyMe is coming again and its alot of fun working w/them. We arrived home at 1a ~ Sk8Chick was able to work the concert too. The diagnosis was a really bad charlie horse results of low calcium and potassium in the system. Prescription ~ tums and bananas for a week. ;D

Saturday 2/9 ~ I was a bum most of the day but I did some knitting on my Aurora. I went to my LYS to wind a couple hanks of sock yarn and return some yarn I purchased that I didn't need. I used the credit to purchase the remaining 4 skeins of Takhi Cotton I needed for my Mirepoix and I replaced my Vogue Knitting holiday mag I gifted. Sk8Chick tagged along and purchased some DB Cashmerino Aran to make fingerless mitts, LH's Grace in chocolate to make Aurora and some lovely Regia for socks ~ all these for herself. She cast on the mitts while we sat at Starbucks and she is very happy with her choice of yarn. I cast on for my SI2Me2 pal's socks too and I'm liking the pattern very much. I'm using Lang Jawoll cotton jacquard which is a superwash cotton. Its stretchy and smooth to work with. I making Madder Ribbed Socks from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks book.

Sunday 2/10 ~ I lounged around all day being a true house bum. I worked on the Madder socks and rested. I wasn't interested in going anywhere though I could have gone out w/the girls and friends to church and lunch. I just choose to stay home. Dh even picked up my library items and went to the grocery store for me. Thx dude ;D I can't say there was much going on other than waiting for Pride and Prejudice pt 1 @ 8p. I paid some bills, read a few blogs and emails but mostly did absolutely nothing. It was great.

Well, there you have it ~ rather boring but thats my life for the past few days. Today, we will get some school work completed. I'll work on my socks and Aurora especially since our weather is dreary ~ icy rains and thunderstorms. Gotta go and tend the fire. Talk w/you all soon.

Have a great week!

Socks & more on the horizon

yep ~ more socks. I'm enjoying this very much. Didn't know I would like making socks but I do. Yesterday, I started my Garter Bars by Sockbug and I'm really liking them though I've only finished the ribbing and have just started the leg rounds. I'm looking forward to these and will also get dh's argyles back OTNs hopefully today.

Over at stashalong we are starting another kal n kal. This month's theme is "finishing" and thats very timely at least for me. I've got several things I'd like to finish but I will focus on the frozen lake shawl. Its really an easy pattern and I know I can do it but I've set aside and forgotten about it. I think I'll have to allot time for each project, you know like we do for our reading or school classes. In this way, I should be able to work on each project a little at a time. Hmm, really will need to plan this one so that the CPVest, which is abit big to carry around, will not be neglected either. I've slowed down on my knitting since I pulled a muscle in my upper back. I've worked a few rows a day though so that I don't lose too much momentum on getting it done. I've started the 2 set of color changes for the back and I'm pleased with that.

My garter bar socks are for my Aug-Sept challenge for the Sock Knitter Anonymous group. I'm excited because these will be my first full length, almost full length ~ I prefer calf, adult socks. I wanted to join the monkey sock swap but failed to send my email ~ its still in my draft queue. LOL I will be updating my sidebar w/more buttons and a FO section but for now have been striking thru my WIPs. ;D

I received my Summer Yard Sale swap package from Sharon. Its too cool.

~ calligraphy pen set
~ calendar notepad
~ 2 spiced wax tarts
~ 2 Caron patterns (shrug and wrap)
~ 4 skeins of Caron's Simply Soft Shadow
~ Country Home & Garden tote
~ 1 Green/blue/yellow/beige sweater for recycling*
*however, Riley wants to keep it.

Thx a bunch Sharon ~ I love my package.

Off to work on homeschool stuff, book study stuff, birthday presents, more knitting and stuff.

Have a wonderful Labor Day!

They're done....

Here they are ~ my 2nd pair of Not Pedestrian Peds. I love this pattern and I am very grateful to StitchnSnitch for this pattern. It has been a pleasure ~ very relaxing I might add too ~ to knit these up. I'm off to make another this time in a solid color though I managed to get pattern to lined up on both sock ~ cool huh?!

Finishing these off also was the end of the August KnK over at stashalong. I'm pleased that I managed to use up 7.75 skeins of yarn. I even gifted 1 skein of cotton w/needles to a newbie. That was fun. I think I need to dig through the stash and find some more karma ~ send it over to good yarn karma for sure. Here is a pic of what was left from all that knitting ~ pardon the pic new camera is needed. ;D

My color play vest ~ I'm knitting the back now finished right front yesterday. Working the first set of color. I believe that it will be done by Monday but not sure since I'm scheduled to work on Sunday, we'll see. Off to knit, watch OETA Movie club and eat chocolate. ;D
